Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen plays key role in establishing peace in Parachinar/ report

The Kurram district, long plagued by sectarian tensions, social unrest, and road blockades, is now moving in a new direction. In recent years, especially in Parachinar, the demonstration of wisdom, stability, and strong leadership has laid a solid foundation for lasting peace in the region.

AhlulBayt News Agency: This peaceful transformation has been made possible through the crucial efforts of the local leadership of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan and national-level representatives. Religious scholar Maulana Muzaffar Hussain Fasih, renowned social activist Shabbir Hussain Sajidi, and Member of the National Assembly Engineer Hameed Hussain Tori are among the key figures who have led efforts on the ground and raised the concerns of Kurram’s people in Islamabad and Parliament.

Maulana Muzaffar Fasih created awareness among the youth, organized intellectual resistance against sectarianism, and led every initiative that had the potential to foster peace. The protest movement initiated under his leadership turned into a nationwide campaign, compelling the government to initiate dialogue and establish peace councils (jirgas).

Shabbir Hussain Sajidi, who also serves as the provincial general secretary of Majlis-e-Wahdat Muslimeen, has consistently promoted dialogue, justice, and understanding as the path to peace. His sincere efforts, active participation in jirgas, and grassroots outreach played a crucial role in bringing together people from all walks of life.

MNA Engineer Hameed Hussain Tori vigorously raised the issues of Kurram in Parliament and pressured the government into taking practical action. He contributed significantly to the restoration of road access, release of development funds, and strengthening of the jirga system.

The peace agreement that emerged from the protests and dialogues holds historical significance. Although full implementation of all its clauses is still pending, the continued efforts of the leadership remain a beacon of hope.

Today, the people of Parachinar are standing with a renewed political and social consciousness, determined to claim their rights. Under the leadership of Shabbir Sajidi, Engineer Tori, and Agha Muzaffar Fasih, their voices will no longer be silenced. If the government sincerely implements the agreements, the day is not far when Parachinar will emerge as a peaceful, prosperous, and united city.
